Pei Zhang was born in the northern region of China during a period marked by underdevelopment, where she discovered her passion for art at an early age.

In her late twenties, she relocated to the United States, initially engaging in international commodities. However, she made a promise to herself to eventually devote her life to art.

In 2015, she returned to China to study ancient mineral painting techniques at the China National Art Academy in Beijing, focusing on painting Buddhas and frescoes. Despite her efforts, she found it challenging to express her inner vision on canvas and ultimately decided to step away from formal art education.

A year later, while experimenting with Chinese ink, oil, and acrylic paints, she began to uncover her artistic voice and develop her own techniques through trial and error.

When the pandemic struck in 2020, she found herself in Nice, France, where painting became her entire life.

She painted tirelessly, day and night, leading to a transformative experience that unleashed her creativity. The outcome was over 300 pieces of artwork that reflect her inner world.

Now back in San Francisco, she feels as though her journey as an artist is just beginning.

She has always believed that art serves as a human expression of the invisible and spiritual realms, whether conveyed through musical notes or the colors and lines on a canvas.

For her, painting is an immersive process where time seems to vanish. It brings her boundless joy and happiness, making everything else fade into insignificance.
